Planting trees on our yard

We decided hat we want a nice shade tree for our yard. We looked at a few different nurseries and settled on a nice maple tree. Sure, it may be small now, but it will grow later on, giving is much needed shade for our yard.
Here is our tree, we just planted it. It started to lean a little bit the next day but Harley went out there and fixed it up, it is nice and straight now. Give it ten years or so and we can tap it and make some syrup, you never know ;)
We also got two honey crisp apple trees for the front yard. This is a photo of Harley digging the tree for one of them.
It was a good day :) the hope was diablo dug and the trees was ready to go in.
He placed the tiny tree into the hole and begin filling it up with dirt.

Now that the tree was nice and the joke was filled in with soil, it was time for a good drink. We had a good day and look forward to the apples that we will have in the future. These are the two trees that we planted in our yard.

Working on the garden

The day after we got home, we were up early and headed to Runnings (like a fleet farm lol) and picked up some plants for our Garden. Harley got himself a maple tree. We also went to another nursery and picked up two Honeycrisp apple trees from our front yard, I always wanted an apple tree. We rented a tiny tiller and got to work.
Harley was fast at work in the garden, you can see where our original garden was by the lighter soil and where ours would end up being by the outine. I weeded the original garden and planted some tomato plans in that space while Harley worked on tilling up the rest of it.
I planted fifteen tomato plants here. We also have a tiny garden by the side of the house where we planted some lettuce and cilantro. Here is what it looks like.
As you can see here, it is right by our large garden. I plan on making a rain barrel somewhere over here for watering purposes, of course :)
This is what our garden looks like now. Harley's sister and brother-in-law came over this weekend and tilled up the far half a little bit more for us. Once that part is all weeded, we will be planting some green beans and cucumbers over here.
All together, we planted 27 tomato plants 12 jalapeño plants, 2 habanero plants, 8 green bell pepper plants, 8 red bell pepper plants and countless cilantro and lettuce plants. It was a productive day.

Back home (at last!)

We packed up the van and were on our way home. We had a great weekend!
We stopped to get some food at Culvers about am hour or so into the trip (we didn't eat anything before we left and dreaded that gas station food). It started to rain on our way home and was still sprinkling when we finally made it home. We got all unpacked and did our laundry (no more campfire scented clothes for us). After we put the last load into the dryer, we left and went to a local restaurant called Murphy's landing for something to eat. I finally got to try the peanut butter bacon burger that I have heard so much about (it was really good)! I would highly recommend it to anyone willing to try it.
Yum!!

Wait, where did it go (Lol)?! See, that's how good it was! We had such an amazing weekend. I had Wednesday off as well ;)

Our last day camping

It was cold and rained on and off for most of the day, we were one of he three families that were left at the campsite. You an see the storm clouds rolling in. It downpoured during the night and in the early morning.
The funny thing, it did clear up for a little bit and we got some sun for maybe ten minutes or so. You can see the little br of blue on the right side of the first picture. When I turned around, you could sure see the blue skies. They were quickly overtaken by the storm clouds, which were fast approaching.

This is a picture of what the sky looked like behind me (what a difference!!). It rained for a little bit, we went to town and got some lunch at a restaurant and when we made it back to the campsite, we wandered into the visitor center and spent some time in there (free wifi!!).
Once night time came around, we lit a fire and stayed dry for most of the night (the rain that was supposed to hit us at 7 never came). Harley and Dusty fell asleep around the fire and I was able to get a photo of the two sleeping brothers (shhh!).
Despite the rain, it was a pretty good day.

Fishing!

I didn't catch anything all weekend, bummer. I can't say the same for Harley and Dusty (his brother), they kayaked all the way across the lake and were catching them left and right. I stayed at the campsite and putzed around while they were doing so, sat by the fire and went on a nice hike.
Here are some of the pictures that they shared with me.
Haha he tried to stay out of the picture :)
Here is one of their catches.

And another one. They were catching a lot of sunnies, crappies and bass.
There were a lot of pictures, so I only added a few on here. They had a good day and all fish were released back into the water when they were done :)

Kayaking on the lake

We spent a day out om the kayaks, we had a great time. Harley's brother used our other one so I hopped in with Harley and we fished for a little bit. We didn't catch anythingn, but had a great time regardless.

I tried to get a decent picture of us, which wasn't easy in the kayak lol (due to my fear of dropping my phone in the lake).
It was a nice, not day, unlike Monday (it rained for most of the day). When we got back to our campsite, I enjoyed a nice time sitting by the fire. It was a good day!

Camping!

We are all packed and ready to go. We are headed up to Battle Lake, Minnesota to go camping. We will be headed back on Tuesday. We will post pictures soon! Stay updated :)
You would think we were moving in. But that's what you get with four + people haha. We got our new tent set up and are quite pleased with the results.
A nice big one :)
For dinner that night we had steaks cooked on the grill. We are having a good time so far and look forward to many other camping trips. We all sat around the fire for most of the night. I had a few hours to myself while the boys went and tried their luck at fishing (they didn't catch anything).
